One of MCI’s major long-term healthcare clients was facing the challenge of additional budget cuts and pressure to save money year-on-year. This client needed to organise a high volume of meetings per year, with face-to-face meetings being the preferred format due to confidentiality and networking.
MCI approached a key hotel chain and set up a workshop with yield managers to determine lowest yields throughout the year. The outcome was the creation of a calendar of availabilities in key properties across Europe which was used to regularly inform the client of the available locations – and at what reduced cost – during low yield periods. The client warmly welcomed this innovative approach thanks to both flexibility & cost-savings. Several meetings have already taken place based on this system, with more to come.
